Wanakee - Footnotes Week

So camp was super fun. One morning we woke up to Dylan dressed as Snow White...
I'm still not sure why!
Campfires were fun. We made banana boats, banana with chocolate and melty marshmallows.
I think they look sick and said they look like dismembered body parts. The kids thought it was hysterical to say they were eating one another's arms...so silly and fun.
We did the Giants Ladder which is part of the ropes course. Nate (seen below) is almost 6'4" and was able to do the ladder by himself in under 7 minutes. I've seen it take a pair of kids well over a half hour to do it together! We now call it Nate's Ladder.
My co-counselor Nathan was also a volunteer and we had a fun time together. We agreed about most everything and were both quite silly.
We had a few "indoor campfires" which were filled with ridiculousness. I liked snapping pictures and blinding everyone, aren't I sweet?! Ha ha.
The dessert for our first cookout didn't go so well...Can you tell it was supposed to be cobbler?! Guess our fire was too hot! The stuff between the burnt layers was good...
It was raining the last night so after we did the dishes and mopped up we played some board games. My table played The Game of Life and Nathan's table played Jenga/Monopoly...not sure how that worked out!

Well I'm off to summer camp at Wanakee in Meredith again. Should be a great week, I'm very hopeful that the rain will quit already so it can also be a dry week!

I'm so excited to get to camp do do the fun things like swimming at the waterfront...

Hanging out at campfires and cooking over them...

Of course our lovely roommates...

In our home for the week...

(Its called a Yurt)
And the little beasties that chase us around all day and night...

And the beautiful music we all get to create and enjoy.

If you're looking for something fun to do next Saturday pop by camp for a fun concert, singing, dancing, hand bells, guitars and a band! It will be at 11am at Wanakee United Methodist Center which is on Upper New Hampton Road, its off 104 in Meredith and there is a sign for the camp on 104. There is a chicken bbq after the concert if you're hungry, adults are $8 and kids are $5. Hope to see you there!
