A Wonderful Week At Wanakee

Ok. Sorry this has been such a long time coming! Between Girls Camp and work and going to Wanakee for the week, oh and a slow internet connection I just haven't been able to get this done! I have been working on it for a few days already! Sorry!

So I spent the 11th thru the 19th at Wanakee which is the summer camp in Meredith, NH that I went to as a kid and where I was on staff in 1997 at the age of 19...I haven't been there since then! It is the place where I discovered my testimony of God and Jesus Christ and where I first truly felt the Spirit so it is part of my heart and who I am. It was an amazing thrill to be back there again and I plan on going back in August for another week as well. The captions are for the pic that is just below the words. Enjoy!

So here are my crazy kids playing a game called Ha Ha. You lay on the belly of the person before you and each person has to say ha without cracking up. The first person says ha once, the second says ha twice and on from there. It is actually tricky to win as your head is bouncing up and down when the person in front of you is saying ha ha...its pretty fun to watch too!
On Monday I signed our site up for a group building activity. They had to get the entire group from one side to the other (about a 6 foot distance or so marked by ropes) using only each other and the rope you can see hanging from a tree in the middle. Paul who is being attacked in this picture (and was all week long!) had a great time swinging around on the rope...
Emily and Dan.
Alli and Libby.
Alli, Abby and Paul. Wow, he looks innocent smiling like that...if I didn't know better!
The beautiful waterfront. I had the best time when the kids were swimming. I'd just sit on the dock which always had a fantastic breeze and chat with Jason the lifeguard and who ever else was hanging out there. So great and relazing.
Kyle and Paul at our special guest concert.
This day I made them do the high ropes course. Yeah for hard hats and harnesses in your crotch! Ouch! This is Abby and Paul getting ready to climb the Giants Ladder. You can also see our wonderful Matt helping Paul get set up. He is the Adventure Programmer and was so wonderful with my kids!
Paul giving a boost to his partner. Go Paul!
Teamwork at its best. Emily is climbing up on Heather's knee. Such great girls.
Heather, Alli, Kellsey and Paul at the Variety Show.
My sweet ladies, Footnotes Friends. Michelle, Jen, Jean, Kerri Lynn (who was my counselor when I was 16!), Sarah and Muma Sue. Yes Muma Cote, I have another Muma out there in the world!
Some of my crazy kids and I performing Build Me Up Buttercup. The backup singers had a tricky time...
Emily, Alli and Abby getting ready to sing Allelus on the last night of camp.
Angel and Emily.
Angel, Kellsey, Libby and Heather. Looking pretty.
My crazy girls, Friday night.
The girls of Site 9, all braided and beautiful!
Go Site 9!
Getting ready for the concert on Saturday morning.
Kevin and I in our clashing green shirts. This is the last of 9 pictures our creative photographer Jason took of us. They're pretty funny to see in succession...
Jason, our fancy photographer with Beccy who I haven't seen since she was 11!
I got to go out for the evening with the staff on Saturday after all the kids went home. I got to go out to dinner twice and go see the new Batman movie which was fantastic!
